In Italy, ES employs about 120 engineers with multidisciplinary skills in a variety of contexts and technologies: large-scale, industrial, transportation, metallurgy and in all contexts in which simulation is a strategic asset for innovation and business competitiveness. ES makes extensive use of software solutions that match or exceed prevailing industry standards (ANSYS, MAGMA, Flowmaster, modeFRONTIER and others), and invests heavily in the use of infrastructure-based High Performance Computing (HPC) and Cloud Computing platforms.
Based on such tools and over twenty years of systematically building knowledge and expertise, ES is able to customize the best solutions for each problem in product or process development for companies from a wide range of manufacturing sectors. These include automotive, aerospace, rail and seaborne transport, communications (electronic and electromagnetism) and energy (oil, gas and plant design).
ES has a big experience in EU and National co-funded research projects, assuming, in some cases, the role of coordinator. The common factor of all projects is the usage of hardware, software and knowledge to provide the high computing competences and media necessary to solve large and complex problems in science and engineering. ES has also a great experience in communication and dissemination activities.
Relevant experience and expertise: The specific technical expertise, which will allow EnginSoft to actively contribute to the success of the project, can be summarized in the following points:(i) CAE competency: EnginSoft promotes and supports a wide variety of CAE software applications, in line with local distribution agreements; through its local representation; EnginSoft also offers to its customers technical support, as well as tailored training and consultancy services.
The core competencies include: multi-physics simulation; (ii) integration / verticalization / multi-objective and multi-disciplinary optimization capabilities; (iii) formalization and management of workflows to treat in a flexible and dynamic way processes of any complexity; design of experiments and statistical tools to identify the most important parameters for global performance; a complete set of methods, technologies and strategies for multi-objective and multidisciplinary optimization; meta-modelling and response surface methodologies to further decrease computation time and increase knowledge; modern technologies for an easy interpretation of the results; (iv) deep knowledge of the industrial issues and concerns: EnginSoft supports the industries by offering them not only a first-class consulting service, but also a complete CAE assessment, which includes a comprehensive characterization of the client (interviews, surveys, workshops, and testing) to evaluate the CAE implementation within the enterprise, meant to balance business and specific technical requirements. EnginSoft has a successful experience in FP projects as a partner and coordinator in 9 projects including NADIA, MUSIC, RLW Navigator, IDEAL among others, and will contribute with this experience to the project.
